Description:

A position has opened up for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk at a company in the Manufacturing field. This position is offered through Robert Half. As the Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk, your efforts will become an important part to the success of a company in the Manufacturing industry. Located in Roanoke, Virginia, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term position. Career growth and quick advancement is available in this progressive department. The Accounts Payable Clerk position will require to match and batch code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks.

Key responsibilities

  • Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents
  • Perform special projects as assigned
  • Provide customer service to internal business partners
  • Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling
  • Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department
  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as required
  • Perform full-cycle A/P
  • Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
  • Command of sales and use tax
  • Foundational knowledge in Enter Vendor Invoices
  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
  • Articulate customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds
  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
