Accounts Payable Specialist

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Professional Services industry, based in Fort Myers, Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding and executing accounts payable duties and maintaining a strong line of communication with vendors. This role also requires proficiency in Excel and direct experience with vendor reconciliations.

• Accurately process and manage accounts payable transactions
• Maintain open and effective communication with vendors regarding payment issues and inquiries
• Utilize Excel to manage and analyze financial data
• Conduct vendor reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Assist in other accounting tasks as needed to support the department’s goals
• Foster professional relationships both internally and externally to ensure smooth operation of the accounts payable function
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies at all times
• Collaborate with other team members to improve and streamline the accounts payable process.
• Proven experience in the field of Accounts Payable or similar role within the Professional Services industry
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes and systems
• Proficiency in using various accounting software and tools
• Ability to manage and process large volumes of data accurately
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discreet manner
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Knowledge of relevant legal regulations and best practices in accounting
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification would be an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
