Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive individual to join our team in the construction industry, based in Modesto, California, in the role of Accounts Payable Specialist. This crucial role requires the candidate to manage a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to maintaining our financial records. It offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, providing the chance to work directly with sub-contractors and assist in the efficient and timely processing of checks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the collection and verification of invoices, payroll data, and other financial documents from sub-contractors.
  • Establish effective communication with sub-contractors to ensure the timely submission of necessary paperwork.
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of payments under the guidance of the A/P Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Show proficiency in using accounting software such as Autodesk Build and/or Sage.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous records and tasks simultaneously.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on maintaining positive relationships with sub-contractors.
  • Show a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role within the construction/contractor industry
  • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of construction industry is a must
  • Experience with Sage Software is required
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a high-paced work environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
