The Manager, Finance and Business Office, is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk. The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. The Accounts Receivable and Cash Management Clerk must comply with established policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of accounts receivable, administration and procedures, general bookkeeping procedures, i.e. understanding the accounting transactions for an invoice, payments and related cash receipt;
- Knowledge of general cash management functions in order to maintain floats for canteens and cafeteria and complete deposits in a timely manner;
- Knowledge of accounting terminology and budgetary practices commensurate with the extent of duties: eg. To calculate and reconcile accounts receivable customer accounts, monitor financial excel spreadsheets, and account collections.
- Knowledge of legislation such as Freedom of Information, Protection of Privacy Act requirements and general knowledge of the Mental Health Act to provide appropriate information to staff and public;
- Knowledge of word processing equipment and software packages such as Word, Excel, Access and Outlook, in order to produce a variety of documents, e.g. letters, memoranda, reports, graphs, charts and spreadsheets by performing such functions as merging text, inputting data, re-formatting, receiving and sending information via internet electronic mail.

Responsibilities:
- Completing cheque runs for Accounts Payable including matching the cheque stubs to the voucher and having cheques signed by the appropriate signing officers if required.
- Ensuring floats, deposits and cheques or security paper are kept in a secure location.
- Performs all work at all times in compliance with all hospital policies and procedures and legislation (Occupational Health &Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS, etc.) relevant to health and safety, security (including relational/therapeutic security) and potential risk hazards, and in particular, “duties of the worker” as defined in Section 28 of the OH&S Act.
