Description:

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced Accredited Clinical Coding Audit Manager, who possess good interpersonal skills, strong process management, and excellent communication skills. The successful applicant will act as a role model for setting a standard of excellence in the provision of the service.
The post holder will be working in a busy and fast-paced environment with day-to-day operational responsibility for line managing the staff and providing strategic support to the Head of Clinical Coding.
They will drive the service through an exciting period of change, as the Trust procures a new EPR and we move towards increased digital and agile ways of working.
There is opportunity for flexible working that could include working from home one day as part of the working week; this would be discussed at interview.
You will also manage the quality and performance targets assuring maximum accuracy and productivity levels within the Coding Team both for coding quality purposes and in support of key performance indicators.
The candidate would need to have proven leadership skills and experience, and would be an ideal opportunity for someone wishing to gain promotion to a management position within Clinical Coding.

The post-holder will have responsibility for the operational management of a Directorate Coding Team, ensuring departmental and trust policies are followed.
Monitoring of agreed key performance and quality indicators will form a major part of this role, with responsibility for supporting areas
of under achievement. The post-holder will work closely with lead clinicians within their respective areas, to ensure that specialty level data is timely, standardized and robust to support performance. The post-holder will support the Head of Clinical Coding in developing and managing strategic plans for the department.

The accuracy of clinical coding activity is vitally important for secondary care trusts, not only to secure the correct income but also to inform decision-making regarding the future of clinical services. Coded activity is also used by secondary users within the NHS, Government and external bodies, who produce statistics, such as standardized mortality rates, and monitor clinical outcomes and key quality indicators.
