APS 6 - PROGRAM MANAGER, ACQUISITIONS, PAYMENTS AND LOGISTICS

The Library is seeking to fill the role of Program Manager, Acquisitions, Payments and Logistics (APS 6) in the Collect and Acquire Section of the Collection Branch on an ongoing basis.
This is a key role in providing strategic advice and specialist knowledge for the delivery of the functions that acquire, describe, manage, provide access to and care for Australia’s National Collection.
This role is responsible for developing and implementing policies, techniques and procedures relating to acquisition of and payment for Library collections and associated expenses. The successful candidate will manage a small team who process invoices and acquisition payments for Library collection purchases. Budget management, financial reporting and contributing to procurement activities are also key elements of the role.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in the Finance Section in ensuring efficient and effective acquisition payments are maintained and communicating opportunities for processing improvements/streamlining. Liaison with other internal and external stakeholders, such as vendors, auction houses and transport companies, is also an essential part of the role.
We are looking for someone who can apply their critical thinking, analytical and leadership skills to acquisition and financial work that supports and advances the work of the National Library of Australia’s Collection Branch.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have subject matter expertise relevant to a knowledge of collections and Australian history and culture. Additionally, it is desirable that you have:
- Knowledge and experience in financial management, including payment processes.
- Experience in library acquisitions.
- Experience in contract management and procurement.
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences or related fields.
