QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Third Party Verification of Statistical education: (minimum 1)
  • BA in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
  • Completion/passing of one actuarial exam.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to code using a primary programming language such as SQL, R, SAS and/or Python.
  • Excellent quantitative, math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Internship preferred.

Responsibilities:

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Actuarial Analyst will use analytical skills and business software to resolve business problems and make recommendations to management. This position will support senior management by providing analysis critical to the key functions of the business. The role will include analysis in the areas of pricing, underwriting, and reserving medical professional liability business and will work closely with senior executives who will provide hands on guidance and training.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Pursue actuarial examinations.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to actuaries.
  • Manage and conduct research.
  • Update and manage databases.
  • Prepare and analyze statistical information.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy in exercising duties and responsibilities.
  • Assist in the preparation of ad hoc reports and studies on topics relevant to the business of professional liability insurance.
  • Provide clear communication of technical work to technical and non-technical audiences.
