Description:

KEY ACTIONS:

  • Actuarial Reporting including Management Information and Financial Performance Activities.
  • Monthly Experience Monitoring: Claims; Lapses and CFI’s; New business and In-force policy movement and mix; New business profitability; Ad hoc actuarial requests.
  • Data checks and Model-point creation (assistance to Data Analyst)
  • Stress and sensitivity testing
  • Policy movement analysis
  • Risk and Internal Control management including documentation and maintenance of actuarial controls
  • Valuation Model Maintenance (basic modelling updates)

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Team – Life Actuarial
Working Pattern - Hybrid – 2 days per week in the Vitality London Office. Full time, 37.5 hours per week.

TOP 3 SKILLS NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience in SQL, R, Python or Excel
  • Mathematical or statistical background

WHAT THIS ROLE IS ALL ABOUT:

Responsible for data and experience analysis and reporting which will be used to understand variances to the assumptions used in the Life valuations model. Useful management information feeding into strategic objectives to understand and improve financial performance of the business.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS NEEDED TO FULFIL THIS ROLE:

  • Actuarial Student (i.e. progress through Core Principles exams).
  • Actuarial work experience will be an advantage.
  • Technically inclined with attention to detail.
  • Confident communicating both verbally and written at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret a broad range of data and complex financial calcualtions.
  • Strong IT skills and comfortable working on multiple software packages (e.g sql, R, Phyton, Power BI, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Prophet experience will be an advantage).
  • Work under pressure and within a dynamic and changing environment.
