SUMMARY: To provide technical support primarily related to rate level analysis, working under supervision on most assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Statistics
  • Successful completion of 1-4 CAS Actuarial Exams
  • Relevant industry experience is a plus
  • Proficient in computer spreadsheets and statistical analysis programs, such as Excel, Access and/or SQL
  • Excellent mathematical, problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and organized is necessary
  • Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills
    Protective’s targeted salary range for this position is $60,000 to $90,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective’s total compensation package for employees.
    This position also offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce rate level analysis exhibits using standard actuarial methods
  • Extract, sort and summarize data from various sources for use in actuarial analyses
  • Complete statistical portion of State Insurance Department transmittal forms and supporting exhibits for rates and rules filings. Prepare responses to routine DOI inquiries
  • Prepare reports of underperforming accounts for dealer management process
  • Develop knowledge of Company and Product terminology, policies, practices, techniques, and procedures
