Description:

Are you enthusiastic about teaching or looking for a new challenge? A new opportunity has arisen at Frimley Park Hospital for a band 8A Acute Care Training Lead Pharmacist!
We are looking for a friendly, supportive and motivated pharmacist who is passionate about educating others and committed to developing the pharmacy team, and the wider health care team. This role will focus on training at the front line.
This role is highly rewarding, and successful candidates will be able to see the positive impact of their role. Successful candidates will primarily be responsible for managing our Trainee Pharmacists, designing and delivering their training year. They will also be responsible for supervising and supporting university placements within the department, liaising with external parties to ensure a seamless experience. With the changes in the initial education and training of trainee pharmacists, successful candidates will be able to contribute to the evolving training programmes and use their knowledge, skills and creativity to achieve goals.
Successful candidates will also be responsible for promoting pharmacy and assisting in the delivery of education and training to allied health care professionals. They will work closely with the Frimley Park and Wexham Park education and training teams to strategies and deliver training to ensure staff development. As such, some cross site travel may be required.
Frimley Park Hospital pharmacy team is often called the Frimley Family and is a diverse, warm and welcoming team with a highly supportive and developmental culture, providing excellent patient care to all service users.
Successful candidates will have the exciting opportunity to develop and manage the Trainee Pharmacists, develop undergraduate training opportunities and work as part of the dynamic clinical environment. They will also be involved in teaching medical students, doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is interested in developing their education and training skills, whilst being supported by the Principal Education and Training Pharmacist.
The post holder will also have responsibility for an acute clinical area to which they will provide clinical pharmacy services. This ensures no two days are alike, and enables the upkeep of knowledge and skills and an environment to support training in.
Although bank holiday, late night and weekend service provision are expected, these are conducted with a healthy work life balance and fully supported by the pharmacy team.
