Description:
THIS POST IS FIXED TERM FOR 12 MONTHS DUE TO SECONDMENT COVER UNTILL 30TH APRIL 2025.
To provide administrative support to the Acute Oncology Service at Swansea Bay Health board linking with Cancer site specific Multi-Disciplinary Teams. Collating, recording and submitting cancer information on a local and national level.
To provide administrative support and coordinate the malignancy of unknown (MUO) aspect of the service.
To efficiently and effectively co-ordinate the work of the Acute Oncology Service team to ensure there is effective co-operation between departments and directorates across the whole pathway for patients requiring Acute Oncology input.
We are seeking a committed, dynamic, motivated individual to provide comprehensive administrative, secretarial and statistical support to the Acute Oncology and Cancer of Unknown Primary Service. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent IT, organizational and communication skills.
The successful candidate must demonstrate an aptitude for working autonomously and alongside members of the multidisciplinary team. An Acute Oncology Coordinator should be able to show empathy and understanding towards patients living with cancer.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Manage the co-ordination of Acute Oncology Admissions through to the appropriate clinical review. The role within the Acute Oncology Service requires the co-ordinator to collect important data relating to the patients journey and treatment management. This information is then recorded into a cancer database, which is used to monitor the effectiveness of the Acute Oncology Service.
Liaise with clinical staff and medical secretaries across the Health Board to ensure the patients are helped along the most appropriate pathway.
