Description:

The appointee will be accountable to the Women & Children’s Directorate which is within the Surgical Division at the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust. This is a full-time post (10PA) in General Paediatrics and will be based at Russells Hall Hospital. The appointee will be expected to have SPIN training in specialty or CCT in paediatric specialty.
This post includes providing clinical leadership, setting standards of clinical care, offering professional advice to doctors, nurses, Local Authorities, Clinical Commissioning Groups and promoting closer integration of primary and secondary health care services for children.

A minimum of 3 clinics per week (roughly 25% general and 75% specialty - actual numbers may change).

  • Clinics will be proportionately reduced to account for any theatre PAs.

The post holder will participate in the on-call rota for general paediatrics and neonates on 1:9 rota for weekends and PAU and this will likely decrease with the appointment of additional Consultants.
The post holder will be expected to manage paediatric specialty clinic template consisting of new referrals and follow-up cases, as agreed with the Paediatric Clinical Director.
Six weeks’ notice for all annual leave and study leave to enable effective management of clinical commitments and cancellations if appropriate.
