Description:

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust’s is an Award-winning service, and we are looking for motivated, enthusiastic, dedicated individuals who are passionate about improving the outcomes for children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs. We are excited to be looking for a motivated and experienced clinician with specific ADHD experience to lead this diagnostic pathway.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering and leading advanced clinical care to their own caseload and service within their speciality area. This role will predominantly involve assessing children and young people for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in line with NICE guidance. As an advanced practitioner you will have the opportunity to develop the ADHD assessment pathway within the team, share specialist clinical knowledge, provide clinical supervision to peers and develop strong links with our ADHD intervention pathway. Whilst this role mainly focuses on ADHD assessment, this position sits within the wider Children’s Neurodevelopmental Team and knowledge and expertise of autism and ability to complete autism assessments will also be required.
The post holder will work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge.

The main duties of this role are -

  • To demonstrate advanced clinical skills in ADHD assessments and provide leadership, training and supervision of staff undertaking assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
  • To liaise closely with other members of the MDT to ensure a detailed and complete diagnostic assessment is completed in line with NICE guidance.
  • Act as a senior practitioner to provide clinical/managerial leadership for the team in the absence of other senior team members
  • To develop and maintain the ADHD assessment pathway within the team.
  • Be responsible for ensuring clinical outcome data is appropriately collated and routinely recorded to the Trust and professional clinical regulatory body standards
  • To employ excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to promote multi-disciplinary and interagency liaison and collaborative practice to broad range of audiences, including other professionals and external assessment providers.
