Description:

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust provides child and adult mental health services, learning disability, wellbeing, older people’s and eating disorder services across Norfolk and Suffolk.

JOB DESCRIPTION/PERSON SPECIFICATION

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions

Responsibilities:

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

Co-ordinate the administrative function within the Care Group to deliver an efficient and effective service that supports clinical delivery, service management, service users and carers.
Provide training and ongoing support and development to team members you oversee, including clinical systems.
Manage staff and resources effectively, employing high quality staff management and leadership principles for staff development, professional standards, communication and appraisals.
To actively be involved in succession planning and recruitment to vacancies, including the advertising for, shortlisting and interviewing of candidates.
Represent the service line at appropriate Care Group and Trust-wide meetings as appropriate to the role.

To manage, co-ordinate and lead the care Group team of administration staff, organising and prioritising the allocation of work to provide a patient-centred service.
To ensure effective supervision and line management structures are in place and provide day-to-day management for allocated members of the admin team.
Ensure a consistent approach in all administrative staffing issues, including maintaining personnel files, absence management, training and education records.
To develop and maintain a robust induction package for new and temporary administration staff.
To hold regular team meetings and to foster the development of the team.
To facilitate excellent communication within the department by disseminating all information received by you to the team and by feeding back relevant comments and queries to the Business Support Manager.
