Description:

The Child Health Care Group are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join the team in the role of admissions team leader on a fixed term until December 2024 to cover the current post holders internal secondment.
Our Child Health admissions office operates Monday-Friday covering core office hours of between 8am-5pm. They provide administrative support for a wide range of clinicians and specialities in terms of managing their waiting lists effectively. Patients are admitted from across the region and Channel Islands to our services.

You will manage a team of admission booking clerks and work closely with the consultants and patient pathway coordinators across the department. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the inpatient journey by ensuring that co-ordinated and streamlined administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs, whilst also ensuring optimum utilisation of our available operating theatre capacity. You will at times work alongside the Care Group Access Manager to provide support with reporting relating to national targets. You will also provide cross-cover for other Team Leaders within the Care Group to ensure a consistent and effective administration service is maintained at all times.
You should have experience of managing a team in a customer focussed environment and ideally have knowledge of medical terminology and patient pathways. We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills who can build and maintain working relationships across the care group as well as having the ability to work well under pressure and prioritise a demanding workload. You will work well as part of a team and have a desire to provide a first class service for patients and clinical teams
