ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

ABOUT US

Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services (KAMS) is a well-established regional Aboriginal community-controlled health service, founded in 1986, which provides centralised advocacy and resource support for 6 independent member services, as well as providing direct clinical services in a further 5 remote Aboriginal communities across the region and being the lead agency for headspace Broome since 2008.
KAMS has successfully delivered high-quality, accessible comprehensive primary health care services over its 34 years of operation and has provided innovation and national leadership in areas such as health information management and evidence-based best practice in Aboriginal Health.

POSITION OVERVIEW

KAMS has a highly rewarding opportunity for an Administration Assistant to join their Population Health Unit on a full-time basis. This position will be responsible for providing high level organisational and professional support services to the Population Health Senior Manager. The position plays an integral role in promoting and contributing to a flexible, adaptable, and changing environment. It also requires proven ability as a proactive self-starter, with excellent time management and networking skills.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • To send fortnightly email reminders for timesheets due date to all PHU Staff.
  • To ensure Coordinators have signed off recommending PHU Staff timesheets and leave applications includes medical certificate or any other relevant documentation relating to application for leave.
  • Register all PHU Staff Movements on shared Outlook Calendar (Pop Health Outreach Trip)
  • Provide administrative assistance in the Finance/Accounts area to PHU Manager
  • To assist and liaise with Asset Manager in maintaining and monitoring Assets as per the KAMS Policy and Procedures and Lease Agreements ie. Property and vehicles
  • Ensure on a weekly basis all PHU correspondence is delivered to KAMS 12 Napier Terrace.
  • Source appropriate training and development initiatives and opportunities.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • The capacity to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively
  • A high level of energy, enthusiasm and flexibility and a strong commitment to learn
  • Computer skills – proficiency in MS office suite, including email and internet and typing skills
  • Demonstrated Initiative and ability to creatively problem solve

Prior experience in an administrative role or similar position is preferred, but not required. We value individuals who are eager to learn and grow within our organisation.

SALARY & BENEFITS
