Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Monash Health’s Gastroenterology department is looking for an administration assistant who will provide clerical and administrative support and billing functions to the FibroScan clinic whilst ensuring that DHHS and Monash Health policy, procedures and mandates are met. The role is responsible for responding to incoming calls and emails, processing referrals, scheduling appointments, managing waiting list referrals, attending clinic and data entry. The successful incumbent require excellent communication and customer service skills in addition to intermediate computer skills. In addition, you will be responsible for:
- provide high level of support to the FibroScan Clinic to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic
- Manage and coordinate all billings for FibroScan clinics in a timely manner
- Medical results management in SMR
- Communication of rosters and leave planners across departments working with Gastroenterology
- Being the conduit between FibroScan clinic, Gastroenterology and other Departments in following up queries.
Communication skills and teamwork are extremely important in this role as you will be working in a diverse team. You are a proactive and experienced healthcare administrator who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. - General clerical and/or administrative skills
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Excellent computer skills and a willingness to learn new software packages
- Knowledge of iPM or similar patient management systems
- The ability to adapt in a changing environment to meet demands
- Friendly and helpful customer service and communication skills
- Proven organisational skills and can work autonomously
- Demonstrated ability to manage a range of administration responsibilities across a number of areas
- A quality focus whilst ensuring work is completed within the required timeframe
