STRAND IS LOOKING FOR AN ADMINISTRATIVE AND ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum one year experience in an administrative role or relevant job experience
- Post Secondary education related to the role is an asset
- Professional disposition and communication style
- Positive energy
- Calm under pressure and capable of thinking on their feet
- Hardworking and highly organized with exceptional multitasking skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to use good judgement
- Proactive team player but able to perform well independently
- Basic accounting knowledge an asset
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Outlook, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams an asset
- First Aid level one is an asset
- Able to lift 50lbs
Responsibilities:
The Accounting and Administrative Assistant reports to the Assistant Controller. The role provides general office support and assistance to the accounting department and other departments as needed. The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following
Administration:
- Reception duties, including answering phones, greeting guests, and managing the boardroom schedules
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Sort and mail cheque payments
- Filing of invoices and other documents
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas including printer room, kitchen and boardrooms
- Update various tracking schedules
- Assist in IT related set up
- Assist Office Manager with day-to-day operations of the office
- Other administrative duties as required
Accounting:
- Accounts Payable – distribute invoices to relevant managers for approval, record invoices in accounting system and prepare cheque payments
- Accounts Receivable - create invoices and record payments received
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Bank visits when needed
- Maintain monthly rent rolls
- Prepare GST returns
- Record monthly interest payments and maintain loan schedules
- Update consultant contract reconciliations
- Assist with preparation of monthly project funding requests
- Assist with preparation of monthly Project Progress Report (PPR)
- Process expense reimbursement reports
- Update various accounting schedules
- Assist with month-end journal entries
- Communicate with vendors as needed
- Support Accounting with various tasks
- Other accounting duties as required
