BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) AND two (2) years of secretarial experience;
  • OR a two (2) year Community College Secretarial Program AND one (1) year of secretarial experience;
  • OR a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline AND one (1) year of secretarial experience
  • Successful completion of TOH medical terminology self-directed learning program;
  • OR certification in medical terminology from a recognized educational institution;
  • Proficient and experienced with Microsoft Office Suite programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent organizational, time-management and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent written and oral communication, proofreading and editing skills;
  • Tact, judgment, and initiative;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proficiency in use of automated office equipment;
  • Excellent knowledge of general office procedures;
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision;
  • Eligible to work in Canada.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of Hospital policies and procedures;
  • Experience using Healthcare Information Systems such as EPIC;
  • Knowledge of Iprocurement and Iexpense softwares;
  • Proficiency in English and French – oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
