Description:

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Strong writing ability and highly developed editing, proofreading, grammar, and composition skills
  • Experience processing travel and payroll for a large office preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and maintain positive working relationships with others
  • Time management skills, with importance of being able to meet deadlines, including the ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), experience with the Integrated Resource Information System (IRIS) preferred

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Six months of advanced clerical experience. This experience includes work such as Office Assistant 2, Accounting Clerk, and similar classes with the State of Alaska or the equivalent with another employer.
OR
Six months of any combination of post-secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced-level clerical experience. (Three semester or four quarter hours of post-secondary education are equal to one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education are equal to one month of experience.)

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for coordinating travel and processing payroll on behalf of the entire division. You will also be assisting the Administrative Officer 1 with routine personnel paperwork. Other duties include but are not limited to: assisting with distribution and filing of correspondence and mail for OPA’s various sections, processing invoices for supply orders, and special projects as assigned.
