POSITION SUMMARY

Impyrian is looking for a People and Culture (HR) Assistant to support our corporate team in Fulton, MD. Impyrian has a culture built around teamwork and collaboration, and we operate with purpose, intention, and integrity.
The assistant will perform a variety of administrative support work for the People and Culture department including but not limited to updating and maintaining the electronic filing system of human resources documents; performing a variety of administrative and clerical support work including routine drafting of documents; answers the telephone and provides general information regarding the department operations and/or services; assists with the processing of incoming and outgoing mail; scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars for managing partners; and assisting with other administrative projects.

REQUIREMENTS

A high school diploma and at least two years supporting Human Resources in an administrative capacity.
Experience working with employee data and using an HRIS system to manage and gather information. (ADP preferred)
Strong attention to detail.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws.
Willingness to build professional relationships with staff and clients.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXP

Bachelor’s degree in HRM with at least one year of direct HR experience.
Desire to pursue a career in HR related field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires standing, walking, sitting, hand use, occasional lifting, reaching, and carrying.
Moderate noise level, with occasional outside work subject to temperature fluctuations.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods using a phone or other forms of business communication

Responsibilities:

As HR Admin (50%)
Acts as a liaison between the People and Culture department and other employees.
Creates and maintains accurate and organized active and terminated employee documents and files.
Processes I-9 form verification for new hires and reverifies as needed.
Assists in the creation and maintenance of human resources forms or documents.
Serves as a reliable source of information for employees, answering basic employee questions about human resources policies, benefits, and company-related information.
Ensures that all employees feel safe and cared for at our company by addressing questions and concerns promptly and professionally – escalating as necessary.
Coordinates and schedules orientations, or training sessions.
Processes employee status changes or benefits enrollments; maintains records of completed transactions.
Inputs HR-related data and runs standard reports for management review.
Supports manager with projects, communication campaigns, P&C initiative planning, and roll-out, etc. as needed.
Executive Assistant / Office Administrative Responsibilities: 50%
Supports other management team members (Partners, Business Development, etc.) on various projects where administrative tasks are required.
Performs routine typing of standard departmental documents, cards, and labels with little or no deviation from established methods and procedures; proofreads documents for accuracy and completeness.
Prepares, maintains, and updates office records, documents, logs, lists, files, purchase orders, etc.; inputs and updates information in a computer database; researches office files to locate specific information found in documents, correspondence, lists, forms, computer records, etc.
Answers telephone courteously and tactfully; assists employees and callers with information.; provides accurate and complete information regarding the department’s operations and/or services; attempts to resolve complaints in a calm, courteous, and tactful manner.
Assists in the receiving, sorting, and distribution of mail in an accurate and timely manner and in ensuring that all mail received is forwarded to the appropriate person and/or destination and collecting and preparing outgoing mail.
Performs other duties as assigned.
