We are currently looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide coverage for a staff member on leave at our Edmonton, AB office . This position supports the business functions for a group of world-class consulting engineers and scientists whose work focuses on materials testing services. This position will perform administrative and office support activities including the preparation of test result documents and filing.
This position being offered is hourly, with a 40 hour work week expected. This position is temporary and will conclude in November of this year; however, depending on business demands there may be an opportunity for this position to transition into a full-time, permanent role. The salary range for this role is $21 to $23 per hour.

QUALIFICATIONS THAT WOULD MAKE YOU A GREAT CANDIDATE:

  • A post-secondary certificate/diploma from a recognized office assistant or administrative assistant program, (applicants with a high school diploma, plus experience in an administrative assistant position will also be considered)
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint) with a focus on Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to safety
  • Creative problem solver who works in a professional and ethical manner
  • Experience in a consulting environment would be considered an asset
  • Experience working with SharePoint or other document management software would be considered an asset
  • The position entails a moderate amount of physical exertion (lifting boxes of files and reports)

Responsibilities:

  • Formatting and proofreading reports, proposals and correspondence to deliver exceptionally accurate documents that comply with corporate standards
  • Arranging flights and booking accommodations for staff travelling to and from the field
  • Creating and manipulating PDF documents using features of Adobe Acrobat or similar software to assemble documents an insert links and bookmarks
  • Planning logistics and preparing minutes for internal meetings
  • Aiding in data entry of field test results to deliver exceptionally accurate documents that comply with corporate standards
  • Facilitating file management and organization for projects
  • Maintaining good working relationships with Administrative Team
  • Maintaining the project archive and document library
  • Completing other administrative tasks as assigned by Manager and Team Lead
