Reporting To:
Base Manager, Thunder Bay
Position Summary:
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the Manager of Base with the overall day-to-day operational activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in daily operations of Thunder Bay Ornge base;
  • Provide administrative support;
  • Tracking of medical equipment;
  • Administrative tasks include: faxing, scanning, photocopying, filing and document preparation
  • internal and external meetings (including videoconference and teleconference);
  • Data entry
  • Support scheduling of students and faculty for education events
  • Preparation for education events – support simulation set up and take down & classroom bookings
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Preference for current students in health care or aviation programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Very good organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize work and balance multiple fluctuating and highly demanding priorities;
  • Proven advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision; and
  • Ability to employ tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive issues.
