NSW Government is replacing the ageing NSW regional rail fleet of XPT, XPLORER and Endeavour trains. The new trains will improve safety, amenities, accessibility, and reliability for customers who travel from Sydney to many regional centres in NSW, as well as Canberra, Melbourne and Brisbane.
As part of the $2.8 billion Regional Rail Project, UGL will perform all asset management and maintenance activities for the new regional rail fleet of 117 rail cars, training simulators and the maintenance facility in Dubbo for at least 15 years.

Responsibilities:

As the Administration Assistant within the Regional Rail Project, you will be required to provide organisational and payroll support to the operations teams on the Regional Rail Project.

  • Coordinate payroll, accounts, time sheeting and other payroll queries.
  • Assist in coordinating monthly project reporting and inputs to ensure timely delivery of reporting to the client and Senior Management teams.
  • Recording and maintaining Regional Rail’s project documentation within various document control management platforms.
  • Assist with coordination of onboarding for new-starters, inductions, training & general ICT support.
  • General office management duties, including but not limited to, minute-taking, word-processing, presentation compilation and receiving/relaying internal communications within the team.
  • Undertake any ad hoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed by the Operations Manager.

About You

  • Previous administration experience would be beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Highly organised and detail oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
  • Professional, responsive, insightful, and decisive manner.
  • Must be customer focused, team oriented, accountable and results driven.
  • Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and ideally SAP.
