By joining the Department of Vehicle Regulation as an Administrative Section Supervisor in Franklin County, you’ll have the opportunity to provide direct supervision over all employees within a regional office.

Holders of the Administrative Section Supervisor position will complete tasks such as:

  • Provide leadership and training to staff
  • Approve employee’s time and perform evaluations
  • Ensure the daily tasks, internal and external customers are completed
  • Provide Reporting of office tasks.

Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:

  • Will acquire leadership skills to perform in a standalone regional office
  • Will acquire professional technology, phone and face to face customer and employee service skills
  • Will become acquainted with banking and daily reconciliation processes
  • Will acquire knowledge of legal document verification and regulations.

Desired candidate possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the positon:

  • Leadership abilities working as an individual and as a team
  • Customer Service Professional with phone and walk in services
  • Basic accounting skills, collecting and processing money
  • Program management and creating reports of office processes.

The position is sitting at a desk and could have minimal lifting and travel with overnight stays.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional administrative experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master’s degree in public or business administration or a related field will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for- year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
