Description:

Hillingdon Stop Smoking service (HSSS) is committed to providing accessible, evidenced based services that treat tobacco dependence, effectively helping smokers to stop smoking, reduce smoking health harms and inequality and ensure residents stay healthy, giving children the best start in life.
The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) is preparing to make a new contribution to making England a ‘Smoke free society’, by 2030 and sets out the Parliamentary Group on Smoking and Health with several recommendations for the Tobacco Control Plan. In addition, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NCE) Guidance NG209 also sets out what is required of stop smoking interventions including the provision of behavioural and licensed products such as nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and prescribed stop smoking medications available for our residents.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
Hillingdon Stop Smoking Services are offered in a range of settings and via a range of partnerships arrangements to deliver a target level of quitters. The post is a split role with 3 days of administration duties and two days of a Tobacco Dependence Advisor.
The primary role will be to provide all aspects of administrative support towards the operational delivery of services, ensuring the smooth operation of a range of support processes, including the clinic booking and scheduling processes, reporting, and invoicing and stock management of NRT and promotional literature.
The role is central to the effective operation of the team and will require high levels of organisation, communication skills, IT literacy and a positive approach to customer service.
The post holder will also have the opportunity to be part of the Tobacco Advisor Team. Level 2 Smoking Cessation training will be provided (if not already trained) with 2 days of the week devoted to contribute to supporting people within the borough, who want to stop smoking or using tobacco. This will contribute to the reduction of smoking rates thus improve the health of the local population, reduce smoking related ill health, disability and preventable death and reduce health inequalities.
The service will be operational Monday to Friday, 9.00am- 5.00pm with flexible late evening clinics for those who may be employed or cannot make daytime appointments.
