Description:

Abraham Joshua Heschel School is currently seeking an Admissions Associate (Grades Nursery-12). Applicants should be highly organized and detail-oriented. Ideal candidates will have experience working in independent schools, admissions, marketing, and database management. Proven organizational and management skills are required, as is being a people person. The successful candidate will report to the Co-Directors of Admissions and will act as part of a team in which commitment to the School’s mission and to its prospective/current families are paramount.

  • The position is full time and year long
  • The 40-hour weekly schedule will be decided in consultation with your supervisors
  • Salary commensurate with prior relevant work history and skills

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Admissions events:

  • Assisting with all admissions events including tours, school fairs, open houses, Early Childhood play visits, parent/student interviews, High School accepted students visiting days, and New Parents’ Receptions.

  • Admissions Calendar:

  • Managing the Admissions Calendar.


  • Coordinating interviews for prospective parents and students in all divisions.
  • Coordinating admissions decisions meetings and financial aid meetings.

  • Data Management:

  • Maintaining admissions data for external and internal purposes.


  • Maintaining student and applicant databases with generation of lists and reports.

  • Assisting in research and creation of admissions reports.
  • Setting up admissions database (Ravenna) rollover for each new academic year

  • Financial Aid:

  • Coordinating and following up on all financial aid applications, materials and files to support the Financial Aid Committee.

  • Working knowledge of Clarity is a plus.

  • Enrollment and Re-Enrollment:

  • Issuing all enrollment contracts for new and existing families with the support of the school’s tech department.

  • Working knowledge of Veracross and Ravenna are a plus.

  • Collaboration with Communications Director:

  • Publishing a weekly newsletter for prospective parents


  • Updating admissions pages on the school website.
  • Ordering all promotional and print materials.

  • General office duties:

  • Weekly phone reception duty and other general office support as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required
  • Applicants must be able to work collaboratively, maintain confidentiality, and work hard with purpose and joy
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and proven success in handling a busy office
  • Excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Google Workspace.
  • Working knowledge of Veracross, Clarity and Ravenna are a plus
  • Willingness to help other departments
  • Comfort in interacting with children and adults
  • Demonstrated commitment to the school’s mission
  • Enthusiasm, passion, sense of humor, and strong work ethic
  • Flexibility to work evenings for admissions’ events
