To be the clinical lead for the efficient clinical leadership, management, delivery, and development of the Adult Audiology service. This will involve maintaining close working relationship with multi-agency staff.
To deputise in Adult Audiology related matters in the absence of the Head of Service.
To have line management responsibility of a number of audiological staff.
To participate in regular meetings within the Community Health East directorate and report on departmental performance and any identified risks / safety issues to trust senior management.
In co-ordination with the Head of Service, to initiate, lead, and actively participate in clinical audit and research and service development using innovative, productive and efficient strategies in consultation with key stakeholders.
To co-ordinate clinical staff rotas to ensure the smooth running of all technical and scientific work within this audiological sub-specialty.
To have overarching responsibility for the co-ordination and supervisory training of trainees to the required minimum qualifications as well as providing instruction, teaching and mentoring to Assistant practitioners, Audiology Practitioners, nurses, junior medical staff, and other paramedical personnel.

Responsibilities:

Qualified to Master’s degree level in Audiology and have successfully attained a certificate of clinical competence, such as Certificate of Audiological Competence, Higher Training Scheme, Scientific Training Programme or equivalent.
Possess a current HCPC state registration as Clinical Scientist (Audiology) with evidence of CPD in accordance with HCPC standards.
Have demonstrable post-qualification experience working autonomously in both diagnostic & (re)habilitative adult and paediatric audiology.
Have evidence of management/supervisory experience.
Have experience of clinical audit, research, and presentations at scientific meetings.
Have wide knowledge and experience of NHS networks/referral routes.
Have evidence of sound knowledge and clinical experience of a full range of both basic and advanced paediatric and adult assessment and rehabilitation techniques
