Description:

We are offering an exciting opportunity to add a newly funded Advanced pharmacist to our current Neurosciences pharmacy team. You will work alongside the Lead Neurosciences pharmacist, clinical pharmacists, technicians and medicines management assistants within Neurosciences.
STH is a tertiary centre for Neurosciences, providing care to over 2 million patients per year primarily from South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, and North Lincolnshire. The service compromises of three acute inpatient wards as well as a large day case unit.
This post will be an integral member of the MDT providing clinical pharmacy services to neuro-medical and surgical patients within the trust.
In addition to ward-based work, this post provides many opportunities to become involved in areas such as: Homecare, compassionate use medicine, education, training, clinical trials, audit, and research.
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic pharmacist with an interest in developing their career within Neurosciences. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy are required. The post holder will be an independent prescriber or willing to complete it within the first year.
The post holder will also contribute to the pharmacy core service, performing departmental duties including evenings and weekends and clinical duties.
Deliver an advanced clinical pharmacy service to the Neurosciences directorate alongside the Neurosciences pharmacy team.
Plan and implement improvements to the pharmacy Neurosciences service.
Respond to medicines information queries.
Contribute to Neurosciences guidelines.
Promote safe and cost -effective drug usage.
The post-holder will contribute to the departments weekend, bank holiday and evening (to 8pm) commitments.
