Description:
The post holder will be practising autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner who demonstrates highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of patients on an Upper GI Cancer pathway. You will demonstrate competence across the four pillars of advanced practice and encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment across the breadth of the specialist cancer pathway. The role will include undertaking independent outpatient clinics, ward rounds for relevant in- patients, assessing and formulating management plans, as well as providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers. The post holder will support new ways of working that emphasises a more efficient and patient focused service, and will ensure the safe treatment, referral, and discharge of patients with a suspected or confirmed cancer diagnosis.
You will have responsibility for leading the on-going development of clinical practice and standards of care within the Upper GI service, including the development of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues and according to relevant local, regional and national guidance. The post holder will deliver a 85% clinical component to their role and 10% related to appraisal, clinical audit, teaching, continuous professional development and research. If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £41.90.
This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13
