Description:

The East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) Medicines Advice (MA) Service, is based in Ipswich, Suffolk. The service is ambitious and forwarding thinking, providing expert, real-world medicines advice that is patient-centred and contributes to the delivery of medicines optimisation.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and supportive pharmacist to lead and manage the operations of the MA service. The Trust’s MA Service is also part of the national Specialist Pharmacy Service (SPS). We provide clinical advice about medicines to a large number of healthcare professionals and support a range of national workstreams as part of SPS. In addition, the service provides medicines advice to ESNEFT healthcare professionals as well as patients through the medicines advice helpline.
Are you clinically skilled in medicines information and advice? Do you want a role that will challenge you and enhance your skill set? Can you lead a small team of pharmacists to meet national and Trust objectives? If this is the opportunity you have been looking for and you fulfil the requirements of the role, then we look forwarding to receiving your application.
This role is part time 25 hours per week and offers the ability to work flexibly/remotely as per the needs of the service.
You will manage the day-to-day operations and delivery of the MA service. You will work in collaboration with peers and under the direction of the relevant SPS Associate Hub and Hub Leads to assist with the safe, efficient, cost effective and patient-centred development and delivery of the SPS MA service, advising senior NHS managers on all aspects of medicines optimisation.
You will have line management and oversight responsibility for a small team of MA pharmacists.
You will have experience of working as part of a medicines advice service, demonstrate leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. You should have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work collaboratively with others and embrace, drive and inspire change and innovation.
You should be able to critically evaluate clinical and operational data, manage difficult and complex situations with the ability to prioritise workload and delivery of services. You will be responsible for ensuring that the centre operates within its budgetary control, identifying the delivery of any efficiencies.
We are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex. Our dedicated staff deliver care from acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, community hospitals, surgeries, community clinics and in patients’ own homes.
We are one of the largest NHS organisations in England, employing more than 12,000 staff.
We pride ourselves on supporting our staff. We offer a wide range of training and development opportunities, as well as flexible working options.
Along with supporting you to achieve your career goals we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (where applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata) and access to a range of NHS discounts. Our Staff Health and Wellbeing programme offer a variety of services.
Our philosophy is that Time Matters to everyone. Across the Trust, we concentrate on improving the things we do and removing those which cause time delays for our staff and patients.
We are investing in our commitment to Time Matters with a partnership with leading electronic patient record (EPR) supplier Epic. This digital transformation will bring what’s widely regarded as the world’s best EPR system to ESNEFT, transforming life in hospital for staff and patients.
If you are passionate about patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge, then we want to hear from you.
