Description:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Full-time Band 7 Advanced Mental Health Practitioner/Supervisor to join the CAMHS Mental Health Support Team 1, based in Slough.
The Slough MHST provide assessments and short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people in Slough with mild to moderate mental health needs. Clinicians working for the MHST service will promote the emotional wellbeing and mental health of young people in educational settings. They will offer advice, information and support to young people and families, and consultation and training to professionals, as appropriate. You may provide outreach support to promote engagement, where needed. You will lead the Slough MHST and work closely with your Slough Getting Help Team colleagues and the Slough MHST/Getting Help Team Lead to provide mental health consultations and advice to partner agencies, including the Slough Early Help team, Youth Offending Teams and CAMHS pathways.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of and contribute to a creative, supportive, and innovative service. This is an important post at the interface with education settings, partner agencies and specialist CAMHS. The Mental Health Support Team sits alongside the Getting Help Team in Slough. Operational management and clinical supervision will be provided within Berkshire Healthcare CAMHS.
Clinical assessments for young people up to the age of 18 years, presenting with mild to moderate mental health problems.
Short-term, evidence-based therapeutic interventions (individual, group, family, as appropriate)
To offer training and consultation to external agencies with regards to the mental health presentation of children and young people who are accessing the Getting Help Team.
Ensuring liaison and joint working between the Getting Help / MHST and the locality Early Help Hub and specialist CAMHS services.
Use of routine outcome measures to promote active participation from young people and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Training to professionals.
