Description:

To provide high quality, effective and efficient leadership, and management to a dedicated MSK Physiotherapy Team, as well as working alongside other Team Leads and deputising for the Service Manager in the management of the wider physiotherapy service.
To deliver highly specialised assessment and treatment for patients with complex musculoskeletal conditions, providing expert advice and guidance to patients, carers and other health and social care professionals. To work autonomously and be responsible for own caseload, and for the line management, and mentorship of the physiotherapy team. To take the lead on service improvement projects, audit and research projects in physiotherapy department and wider service.
To provide leadership and operational management of a physiotherapy team.
To be responsible for supervision of all Physiotherapy staff within the Outpatient Department.
Be responsible for the organisation of staff rotas and leave for all staff in the team
Ensure efficient time management of team to meet performance targets.
Responsible for the completion and implementation of all audits including note keeping, CQC returns and ensuring ESR monitoring is up to date.
Responsible for providing the Service manager with regular updates summarising problems, trends, progress, and variances monthly and analyse these trends and provide action plans to address any areas for improvement.
Manage informal complaints within own area; supply Service manager with evidence as required to support a trust response.
To ensure the safety of staff and patients, complete local risk assessments and local incident investigations a required.
To fully participate in the operational planning of the service, in conjunction with the Operations Manager, to include service development and implementation of service change.
To participate in the regular review of policies and guidelines within this service area and implement required changes to practice.
To make judgements on an individual basis involving highly sensitive and complex information and/or situations, which require analysis, interpretation, and the comparison of a range of options, and to provide support and direction to all staff, regarding their clinical decision making and risk assessment.
