POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We seek a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join Manufacturing as an Advanced Research Associate in our Formulations Team in Newark, CA. Candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment with shifting priorities and has proven ability in delivering high accuracy and quality products. This position will involve following established procedures and protocols to manufacture bulk reagents under minimal supervision. This position will also require the manufacturing of technically challenging products under direct supervision which require a scientifically minded individual with strong laboratory skills. This position will also assist in setting up new and improving existing procedures where needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A B.S. within a related scientific field such as Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering.
  • Must be a good team player, self-motivated, and willing to learn new techniques and concepts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to generate results and perform work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work effectively in a cross functional team environment.
  • Must have demonstrated good laboratory skills with experience in basic molecular biology techniques.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in ISO 13485 and/or GMP is a plus.
  • 2 years of industry experience.
  • Previous experience with ERP systems is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires lifting up 30 lbs. and standing for long periods of time on a daily basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Formulate biochemical and chemical reagents precisely and efficiently according to manufacturing procedures and Quality System regulations.
  • Complete and maintain manufacturing records in compliance with Good Documentation Practices.
  • Execute other associated processes related to the manufacturing of ACD products.
  • Build custom RUO products when needed.
  • Participate in general laboratory maintenance functions such as regular cleaning of lab facilities, cleaning of lab ware, disposal of waste, etc.
  • Practice workplace safety and adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines.

OCCASIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform cycle count.
  • Participate in product validation and process scale-up to transition from pilot lots to full production-scale manufacturing.
  • Participate in transferring of new products from R&D to Manufacturing.
  • Perform equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and routine monitoring.
  • Assist with ordering, restocking, and organizing manufacturing consumables.
  • Support other manufacturing activities, probes manufacturing, fill/finish, etc., where applicable.
  • Support process improvement projects.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
