SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The Advanced Vehicle Engineering - Engineer should have the following skills or experience:

  • This role will require a degree of coding skills, experience with dSpace, ControlDesk, Python, CANALYZER, MicroAutobox will be a significant advantage.
  • Understands the safety requirements of working around High Voltage and electrical hardware systems.
  • Competency will be determined based on accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
  • Be comfortable working within a high performing, results orientated team, promote ideals of psychological safety and the tenets of the Nissan Way.
  • Interpersonal skills as well as a understanding of Microsoft office applications (excel, word, PowerPoint)
  • Be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Have relevant experience or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be self-motivating, self-managing, pro-active and positive. Have an energetic personality and be flexible regarding working practice and working hours.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE

We are seeking an Advanced Vehicle Engineering - Engineer to be based at Nissan Technical Centre Europe, Cranfield to Support electric vehicle research team with trend research, horizon scanning and data analysis.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be working across the fields of automotive trends, batteries for electric vehicles, advanced power electronics and electricity network integration (deep knowledge of at least one or more of these areas is an advantage).
The role will also involve direct involvement with ongoing projects, attending European technical conferences and producing high-quality, fact-based communications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribution to the production of predictive modelling tools.
  • European and international travel.
  • Delivering annual projects related to Power Electronics and Battery for the EV market. Activities may be looking at on vehicle and off vehicle applications to include overall energy solution programs.
  • Contribute to annual and monthly reports, respond positively to feedback and prioritise usefulness to the final output.
  • Project Management
  • Support work on current R&AE projects, managing supplier timing and purchases to ensure smooth running.
  • Regular reports to Nissan management of status on QCD
