Description:

Duties/Pligte

  • Consulting with, and providing advice and support to lecturers on matters related to blended teaching, learning and assessment practices;
  • Organising, designing, presenting and facilitating Faculty development activities in the CHPE that aim to support the professional learning of staff on matters related to

    blended learning experience design, the navigation of the learning management system, and the use of relevant digital learning technologies;

Designing digital teaching, learning, and assessment resources;

  • Monitoring, evaluating, and researching blended learning experience design in the FMHS;
  • Performing CHPE website updates;
  • Maintaining the necessary administrative records regarding workflow and maintenance of equipment;

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • A master’s degree in a higher education or health professions field (or in the process of studying towards one), OR a Bachelor’s degree AND a postgraduate diploma in

    instructional design / information technology / educational technology;

Two years’ relevant working experience at a higher education institution within the field of blended learning design;

  • Experience in academic development in higher education with regards to educational technologies and blended learning approaches;
  • Experience and proficiency in the use and support of a Learning Management System as well as other learning technologies;
  • Proven digital design experience (e.g., videos, SCORMs, podcasts, interactive digital content);
  • Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., the Moodle learning management system, the Microsoft Office suite, Adobe suite, Camtasia, and iSpring);
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills in the context of a team;
  • The creativity to develop digital learning modules that are understandable, interactive and engaging;
  • Passion and integrity with the drive to deliver projects on time.
