Responsibilities:
- Work within a multi-disciplinary health, safety & environment team, reporting to the operational site HSE Leader.
- Be responsible to develop and deploy site HSE prevention programs, audit their application, coach shop floor front line leaders on their roles and responsibilities and ensure that best practices are implemented.
- More specifically, HSE prevention programs related to industrial risks such as machine safety, management of confined spaces, lockout / tagout, prevention of electrical risks, management of hazardous materials and chemical risks, ventilation, working at heights, material handling with overhead cranes and forklifts, etc.
- Actively participate in employee health & safety committees.
- Develop and or deliver HSE training related to specific risks.
- Perform risk assessments, inspections and audits of the workplace and manage action plans
- Plan, prioritize and coordinate activities based on established objectives.
- Support the maintenance of the HSE management system / ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
- Collaborate closely with key internal partners, union representatives and HSE teams from other sites.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities / workshops to optimize processes.
- Perform trend analysis, prepare reports and make recommendations.
- Conduct HSE regulatory monitoring, perform impact assessments and create action plans.
