ABOUT YOU

  • Previous surface mining experience in a similar role.
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Working knowledge of the Mines Safety Inspection Act (WA) and similar legislation in other states.
  • Experience in HSEQ management systems and able to implement HSEQ management plan deliverables.
  • Qualification in incident investigation methodology, such as ICAM.
  • Senior First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Manual “C” Class WA Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Macmahon is currently seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join the Telfer Project team on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth. Reporting to the HSEQ Superintendent, this site-based role will suit experienced professionals with previous surface mining experience. The Telfer Gold Mine is in the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia and produces copper and gold.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Implementation & compliance to the systems and processes in the HSEQ Management Plan.
  • HSEQ Management Systems mentoring and guidance.
  • Liaising with clients in relation to WHS activities and site-based lead and lag indicators.
  • Assisting with accident / incident investigations.
  • Facilitating risk assessments to support operations.
  • Maintaining and reviewing site corrective action and hazard reporting processes.
  • Completing site inspections and audits.
  • Completing monthly safety reporting.
  • Assisting supervision with the injury management and return to work processes.
  • Monitoring the mental health of our people and referring them to the EAP services as needed.
