Job Title: Advisor, Human Resources
Department: Human Resources
Position Status: Permanent
Location: Montreal (YUL)
Reporting Manager: Director, Human Resources
DESCRIPTION:
- Excellent knowledge of best Human Resources practices in the areas of recruitment, performance management, employee benefits and compensation.
- Identify requirements for Human Resources frameworks and tools for recruitment, performance management, development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, employee on- and off-boarding, and talent retention.
- Provide expert advice in making decisions regarding employment terminations, disciplinary measure, etc.
- Act as the resource person for managers and the human resources team in matters of employee relations.
- Participate in the preparation of various files such as: disciplinary meetings, mediations, arbitrations hearings, human rights, and complaints.
- Maintains awareness of legislative and regulatory changes and industry best practices related to workplace harassment.
- Drive departmental outcomes that align with overall business objectives.
- Recommend ideas and strategies related to talent that will contribute to the long-range growth of the company, implementing any new processes and fine-tuning current processes for retention that fits within ACV’s Quality standards to deliver the highest quality results to the customer.
- Advise, support and coach managers and employees in the interpretation and application of policies, programs, and various labor and other applicable laws.
- Keep abreast of new trends in Human Resource Management.
- Continuously look for creative ways to improve and expand the employee experience.
Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a broad-based Human Resource/People & Culture role
- Experience with all aspects of people management, coaching for performance, and corrective discipline.
- Experience building relationships and working on teams across all levels of an organization.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to apply sound judgement.
- Functional ability to use Microsoft Office tools and relevant office equipment.
- Bilingualism (French & English) required.
- Strong Knowledge of HR legislation and labor standards
- Proven proficiency in human resources applications preferably Dayforce
- Available for frequent travel within Canada (minimum 2x / month)
