The Advisor/Recruiter, Undergraduate Programs coordinates all undergraduate advising and recruiting activities for the Faculty of Education. The role provides advice to prospective and registered Pre-service Professional Studies and undergraduate students of the requirements for Education degree programs, minors, certificates and post baccalaureate diplomas; academic coursework of Pre-service Professional Studies: and course offerings and prerequisites. The Advisor/Recruiter ensures graduation requirements have been met; and recruits students to the Faculty by coordinating and participating in student recruitment activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or other relevant discipline and three years of related experience in post-secondary program advising or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of undergraduate program business processes and procedures.
- Intermediate knowledge of student information systems and software applications (i.e., database, spreadsheet, presentation, web-browsers, and word processing).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication (verbal, written and presentation) skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and processes.
- Ability to design and develop publication materials.
- Ability to exercise mature judgment, initiative, diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to work flexible hours as required.
- Ability to arrange suitable transportation to multiple campuses and off-site locations.
