Title: Advisor, Shared Secretariat
Salary: $70,677 - $88,399 - $97,239 per year (pay range explained below)
Contract: Temporary, Term until March 2025, with the possibility of extension
Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday- Friday (core hours- 9:00 am- 3:00 pm)
Location: Coast Salish Squamish, Musqueam & Tsleil-Waututh Nations- Metro Vancouver: Park Royal office – (Hybrid – minimum 50% in the office)

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Advisor, you will provide strategic advice, guidance and support to management, staff, the First Nations Health Council and the First Nations Health Directors Association. You will support the Senior Advisor in the development, execution and maintenance of function specific strategies, programs, processes and procedures that align with overall organizational needs and goals. Additionally, you will proactively and routinely encounter complex issues (may include political and community issues) and demonstrate innovative thinking by researching, analysing and preparing recommendations relating to the relevant functional area, and to the FNHC/FNHDA Shared Secretariat function overall.

To be successful in this role you will have –

  • University degree in public policy, political science, First Nations governance, or related discipline plus 4-6 years of relevant specialized experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Significant, relevant and recent experience in providing written advice, communication tools, briefings or published papers
  • Significant, relevant and recent experience in project management supporting projects and small teams
  • Experience in research, report and publications writing
  • Experience with public health and policy is an asset
  • Experience in maintaining effective and collaborative working relationships with First Nations communities, health associations, government(s) is an asset
  • Knowledge of the BC First Nations Health Governance Structure, Tripartite agreements and processes, including transition and transformatio
