The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) Design Build team is seeking an Aero and Propulsion Lab Test Manufacturing Planner to join our team in Tukwila, WA.
The Aero and Propulsion Lab Manufacturing Planner within Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) will support fabrication planning and installation by providing design review, manufacturing plan authorship, fabrication sourcing (inside and outside of Boeing), interface with procurement (including tracking), and support in the lab during the build/installation. These efforts represent a wide variety of research and production programs primary in support of Boeing Commercial airplanes (BCA) and Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) programs.
As a Manufacturing Planner, you will review aerospace designs for producibility, create procurement plans, create installation plans, solve technical issues, learn the process from design to installation on aircraft, and identify process improvements and risks. This position performs production engineering related work for military aircraft. The selected candidate will work with a cross-functional team including engineering, quality, product support, supplier management, and program management.
Travel to other Puget Sound locations may be required based on business needs.
BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate and Experienced level Aero and Propulsion Lab Test Manufacturing Planners.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Associate degree or higher, a technical certificate or degree, or 3 or more years of equivalent technical manufacturing planning experience
  • 3 + years of experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment
  • 1 + years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
  • 1 + years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
  • Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment
  • Experience in support of commercial and military customers
  • Experience in Project management
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Boeing BCA/BDS/BT&E Manufacturing Engineering experience in Systems Lab Test
  • Experience in ME and processes across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Experience with PDM, CAPP, CMES, MESci, EPARTs, GOLDesp etc.

EXPERIENCED (LEVEL 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+ 1 year of related work experience, 5 years’ related work experience, etc.).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration
  • Assist with development and integration of suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements
  • Assist in reviewing supplier data to ensure manufacturing related requirements are met
  • Identify tooling requirements and initiates tooling orders based on manufacturing and engineering requirements
  • Assist in tooling dispositions
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing related issues of limited scope
  • Assist with producibility assessments for part or product designs
  • Assist in providing input to design, manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules
  • Develop work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments
  • Assist in the review, maintenance and monitoring of internal documents
  • Work under general supervision
