Description:
Canduct Industries is a leading manufacturer in electrical insulation, primarily used for cooling for oil cooled transformers. We are looking for an Afternoon Production Supervisor in London, ON.
Reporting to the Production Manager, this individual will be responsible for ensuring that production meets or exceeds efficiency and quality standards by managing the production staff and organizing the production workflow.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet timelines along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Prior supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment will be an asset.
- Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint ERP, etc.).
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal; organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledgeable regarding current OHSA regulations.
- Strong ability to provide positive and constructive feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma/GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Accomplishes assigned operational goals by communicating job expectations; planning & coordinating manufacturing activities with assigned work cells, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, accountability & disciplining employees; ensuring conformance to quality management system; training and mentoring employees; identify and manage risks & opportunities.
- Responsible for the efficient coordination of work cells, management of provided resources to achieve established goals & objectives; goals & objectives are clearly communicated & understood on the production floor, work cells have the required tools and trained labour to perform, work cells have the material and proper equipment to safely fabricate material.
- Manage gaps in performance & develop counter measures.
- Maintain a safe work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of equipment and tools, processes, and procedures.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed/directed.
- Provide training, support, and leadership guidance to Lead Hands.
- Ensure accountability of Lead Hands, machine operators and production staff to meet safety, quality, and operational targets as well as company policies, procedures, values and code of conduct.
- Communicate cross-functionally regarding equipment failures and quality concerns.
- Initiate, propose, or provide solutions related to potential process improvements to reduce or eliminate the generation of waste, the handling or disposal of waste through reclamation and/or recycling of material.
