Agency Asset Manager I - Principal Associate Insurance Loss Monitoring
The Asset Manager (Principal Associate) will oversee the monitoring and reporting of insurance losses for both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans. This associate will also be responsible for managing communication to internal and external stakeholders including investors, insurance agents, vendors, and borrowers. Additionally, they will be responsible for performing other duties as necessary to support the goals and objectives of the Multifamily Asset Management platform. This position will be a member of the Agency Finance Asset Management team and report into a Senior Manager.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial real estate
  • At least 2 years of GSE experience (Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac) or CMBS experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years of experience with loan asset management and managing insurance losses
  • At least 3 years of experience in commercial real estate
  • At least 3 years of GSE experience (Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac) or CMBS experience

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee monitoring and reporting for all Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac insurance losses
  • Work with borrowers, management companies, and insurance agents to understand the scope of the loss and the level of documentation and reporting that will be required by reviewing loan agreements, proof of loss statements, adjuster’s reports, and agency guidelines
  • Submit initial reporting to agencies and work with all stakeholders to set expectations for insurance loss proceeds, draw requests, periodic inspections, and restoration timelines
  • Closely monitor progress assuring the borrower is following all requirements of their loan documents
  • Communicate with agencies by submitting periodic reporting updates and commentary in Freddie’s DMS and PRS systems and Fannie’s MAMP system
  • Confirm restoration and obtain all required close out documentation
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships, including regular communication with borrowers and insurance agents
  • Identify opportunities for process updates to aid in promoting accuracy and efficiency
  • Work closely with fellow associates to promote transparency and communication
  • Provide assistance in training and managing of junior staff
  • Comply with all Investor monitoring and reporting requirements
