QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES

  • Titulaire du titre d’Agent de brevets inscrit au Collège des agents de brevets et des agents de marques de commerce (Cabamc) ou avoir un minimum de trois (3) ans d’expérience dans le domaine;
  • Expérience pertinente dans le domaine des hautes technologies (télécommunications, logiciel, intelligence artificielle, sans-fil, etc.)
  • Titulaire d’un diplôme de premier cycle dans un domaine pertinent;
  • Un diplôme de second cycle, tel une maîtrise ou un doctorat seront considérés comme des atouts;
  • Le bilinguisme sera un atout important.

JOB SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a patent agent or patent agent trainee to join our collaborative team within the intellectual property group, where stimulating challenges await.

This position will mainly require you to:

  • Draft and carry out patent applications in Canada and abroad;
  • Prepare written opinions on the patentability of inventions and the validity or infringement of patents;
  • Participate in strategic processes associated to innovation, intellectual property and due diligence in the field of intellectual property relating to commercial transactions;
  • Perform technical and legal analyses of patents and deal with patent litigation cases either as a lawyer, an agent or both.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Patent agent registered with the College of Patent Agents & Trademark Agents (CPATA) or at least three (3) years of experience in the field;
  • Relevant experience in the field of high technology (telecommunications, software, artificial intelligence, wireless, etc.)
  • Undergraduate degree in any relevant field;
  • Graduate degree, such as a master’s degree or a PhD, would be considered an asset;
  • Fluency in both French and English, an important asset.
