Description:

Job Overview & Purpose:
To collaborate with Agribusiness Managers in the development and maintenance of long-term client relationships and business growth through portfolio management including the completion of efficient and effective credit submissions.

Country Banking enjoys a reputation as the leading provider of specialised banking services in the Food and Agribusiness sector. The Retail and Rural sector of Rabobank Australia and New Zealand Group (RANZG) is an important contributor to Rabobank globally.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Work collaboratively with Agribusiness Managers in responding to requirements of new and existing clients
  • Complete financial analysis and preparation of loan applications and reviews in accordance with the bank’s policies and procedures, utilising the Loan Application process.
  • Work collaboratively with Agribusiness Managers to take responsibility and ownership of portfolio risk:

o Credit management – complete loan applications and client reviews in a timely manner

o Prudential management – proactive monitoring and reporting on loan covenants, securities, excesses, OCDD

  • Take ownership of the credit application process, ensuring it is completed to a high standard with minimal reworks.
  • Work collaboratively with Agribusiness Manager to provide necessary level of service to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Work collaboratively with Agribusiness Manager to identify business risks and poor performing assets early
  • Ensure compliance with the banks policies and procedures at all times
  • Promote desired risk culture and maintain strong relationships with all lines of responsibility (1,2,3LOR)
  • Manage and resolve customer complaints and disputes in a timely manner
  • Manage and facilitate account opening and loan settlements
  • Contribute to the development and execution of Area business plans and attend Rabobank events.
  • Maintain and build relationships with local referral sources, including accountants, solicitors and consultants.
  • Attend client and prospect farm visits with Agribusiness Managers and take an active role in the deal team
  • Undertake service and fulfilment work as required, requesting financial statements and general liaison with clients, other service providers and other stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues as required.
  • Other duties as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or relevant agricultural discipline (desirable).

Experience:

  • Experience gained within banking and/or business or corporate banking with an agribusiness focus as an Analyst or similar.
  • Strong communication at all levels both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain sound relationships with key internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and take transaction/request ownership within deal team.
  • Ability to proficiently present deals well in terms of:

o Presentation of a report for formal approval following key principles and guidelines

o Clear and concise articulation of the proposed transaction/request, rationale and source and use of funds (if applicable)

  • Sound understanding of and ability to articulate:

o Analysis of financial information including historical statements, forecast cash flow, farm production and pre and post deal position
o Business model and analysis
o Key risk identification
o Credit Worthiness

Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of the rural industry
  • Knowledge of specialised financial products
  • Advanced understanding of lending services and policy and procedures.
  • Strong credit and financial analysis skills and experience.

Compliance & Operational Risk

  • Understanding of, and ability to, manage facility reviews and maturities, account excesses, ongoing covenant and compliance monitoring and group lending reviews in a timely manner sufficient to meet bank policy and procedure requirements.
  • Ability to recognise and report operational and credit risk incidents.
  • Undertake Risk Champion responsibilities as required.
