Description:
AHP Workforce Programme Lead, Band 8a (22.5 hours a week)
The main purpose of this role is to provide senior AHP leadership capacity within GHFT to support the development of the AHP workforce.
The role of the AHP Programme lead is to develop and manage a programme of work that supports the development of the AHP workforce across the Trust. The post holder will also develop an organisational level AHP strategic workforce plan (to be aggregated at ICS, regional and national level). The post holder will work with AHP leads to identify further programmes of work to support workforce priorities across the system.

As a member of the AHP Council the post holder will work with colleagues across Gloucestershire ICS to build a shared purpose and commitment to support AHP workforce transformation and build a strong, sustainable AHP community across Gloucestershire.
The post holder will work with staff at all levels to understand what is important to them to develop and identify exemplar practice to support recruitment and retention of staff.
The post holder will work with service leads, Recruitment and HR to develop recruitment and marketing initiatives. Developing marketing materials and identifying and delivering recruitment programmes and where necessary specific recruitment and retention schemes.
Work with Education and Apprenticeship leads to develop a strong career framework for registered and support worker staff.
Post holder needs to be a member of one of the fourteen recognised AHP professions registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Must have current registration, qualified to Degree level with further study/qualification to M level.
Extensive years of experience working in the NHS, demonstrating experience of multi-professional working with clinicians and operational staff groups, securing early and consistent engagement.
The post holder will manage a programme of activities to support the continued delivery of an AHP Workforce Strategy and the development of AHPs within the organisation.

The post-holder will work closely with the education leads, workforce lead and managers of all allied health professions in the trust as well as the practice development team for nursing.
