The Digital Technology Business Unit (DTBU) is a part of the Surgical Operating Unit within Medtronic. Within strategic pillars in computing and cloud, AI, and digital applications, the DTBU is charged with imagining and building digital products and experiences which augment surgeon experiences and the performance of Medtronic’s products.
We are currently looking for an AI/Data Science Research Management Specialist for our team to oversee exciting exploratory work in interventional cardiology and to coordinate pilot project activity linking computer vision and data science development. The role will work across development teams and coordinate data annotation and algorithm development needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and improving the data transfer and sharing practices for R&D annotation projects to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding and upholding strict data ethics and information governance policies.
  • Following all internal policies relating to data management, including access and transfer of clinical video content.
  • Implementing systems and processes to monitor internal and external annotation pipelines to ensure effective, scalable and efficient delivery.
  • Assisting with preparation of annotation guidelines in collaboration with clinicians and research team.
  • Managing contracting, vendor assessments, vendor onboarding and payment processes pertaining to interventional cardiology projects.
  • Assisting with annotation project setups and annotator onboarding.
  • Managing and support existing and new clinical research projects and partnerships (global).
  • Project monitoring and preparation of regular reports to internal stakeholders, and participation in relevant internal meetings and committees.
  • Implementing processes to streamline the annotation pipeline including training and QA.
  • Managing and allocating resources for data annotation projects.
  • Collaborating and supporting our internal Research, Annotation and Medical teams, and other Business Units, as required.
  • Assisting and supporting presentations and other relevant materials including reports, PowerPoint presentation etc
