Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking AI Innovation Program Leader to spearhead our organization’s AI initiatives and drive business value. This pivotal role involves identifying and implementing high value use cases for the organization, increasing AI workforce readiness, collaborating closely with key teams to define AI-related policies, and ensuring the responsible and effective use of AI technologies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of AI capabilities, emerging trends, and be adept at leading a culture of innovation within an AI-enabled organization.

Work You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with business and IT partners to identify and implement high value AI use cases with measurable ROI
  • Stay informed about emerging AI trends and future use cases and apply this knowledge to improve organizational practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to monitor and validate AI workforce readiness.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Risk Teams to create and enforce policies for AI risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the organization’s AI usage to optimize performance and minimize unintended consequences.
  • Understand and apply AI Responsible Use Principles in all projects.
  • Assess and fulfill staffing, contracting, and budgetary needs for AI projects.
  • Identify and address AI security risks, including threat mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee data acquisition, collection, and curation processes in line with best practices for AI solutions.
  • Establish MLOps function
  • Manage the AI lifecycle and ensure the successful delivery of AI solutions.
  • Maintain knowledge of AI technology platforms, cloud computing models.
  • Ensure compliance to relevant legal and regulatory requirements for the ethical use of AI.
  • Leverage resources from government, academic, and industry systems for AI advancements, when applicable.
  • Implement AI-specific acquisition models and evaluate machine learning model effectiveness.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate unintended bias and address machine learning blind spots and edge cases.

Team:
This role will be part of Hillenbrand’s global Digital team. This team drives digital business strategy and technology innovation to improve business processes, enhance decision-making, and gain a competitive edge. We focus on business intelligence and data analytics, digital transformation, automation of repetitive tasks with RPA, and fostering AI adoption and ethical use within the company.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
The role requires a deep understanding of AI/ML solutions and their application in organizations. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to communicate complex AI concepts to diverse audiences and expertise in managing organizational change to increase AI literacy and adoption. They will have experience in developing innovation partnerships with academic institutions, industry leaders, and technology providers. They are knowledgeable about the AI lifecycle and can successfully manage AI solutions. They are skilled in resource optimization for AI projects and programs, stakeholder management, and influencing AI adoption. They can identify AI risks at both organizational and project levels, including security risks. They also understand data science techniques and model management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in AI program management, policy deployment, and risk assessment.
  • Previous experience driving Generative AI use cases in an organization desirable.
  • Proven track record of leading AI projects and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field preferred.
  • Manufacturing industry knowledge highly desirable.
