Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team are seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance (145 / MRO) Professional to support a world class rotary-wing platform as anAircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics.This role is based at RAAF Base Townsvillein tropical North Queensland and supports the Chinook Integrated Support Services Program.
Working side by side with our Australian Defence Force Customer, you will play a vital role in the maintenance of Boeing CH-47F Chinook avionics and electrical systems and associated equipment.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework
  • Hold a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) - Category B2with CH47F Type Rating (CH47F type rating preferable, not essential)
  • Previous experience as a maintenance certifier / trade supervisor (E62 Exclusion removed)
  • A high level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to successfully interact with co-workers, maintaining productive working relationships to meet team, business unit and organisational goals
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
  • Have a working knowledge of computer-based maintenance management systems
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance of NV1

Responsibilities:

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for the maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components and associated equipment within the scope of their applicable: trade; qualifications; training; competency; and, Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) authorisation(s).
The AME completes assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of AMO aircraft maintenance activities, sign-off, and Certification of those aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with the appropriate Authorised Maintenance Data (AMD). These maintenance activities require the application of trade qualifications and experience in the relevant trade category. Additionally, the aircraft maintenance activities may require the application of post-trade qualifications and experience.
AME conducting Certification are required to interpret Instruction for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) airworthiness limitations from within AMD and apply them to the assessment of defects and imperfections.
The AME shall also supervise other AMEs and provide mentorship to subordinate technicians in the development of their pathway to success
